We can come to your house fire it up and stay for the day. Whether you’re planning to host a gathering to celebrate a birthday, engagement party, holiday, or special occasion like a family reunion, we’ve got you covered! Our Catering brings the most delicious down home southern cooking and smoked meats straight to you, no fuss involved. We can smoke on site putting on a show for your guest with our competition smoker.

We do special events all over the state of GA year-round. We bring out our competition smoker/ Food Truck and can sell on site at any location. From BBQ & Brews to Denim Fest in Canton. ABOUT OUR BUSINESS

We are husband and wife duo that fell in love with smoking meats and creating delicious food together. We cook from our hearts and soul with passion you can taste in every bite.
Born in South Texas, Chrissy Hutto Chance, the original “Smokin’ Texan,” was raised in Flour Bluff a small town right outside the Corpus Christi Naval Air Station. As a teenager, she became passionate about cooking and fell in love with feeding others and the joy it brought her.
After moving to Georgia, Chrissy graduated from the Art Institute of Atlanta with a degree in culinary arts in 2011. She began her culinary journey into fine dining under the expert guidance of Soho’s Executive Chef Joey Ahn, whom she still touts as one of the major influencers in her career.
On Father’s Day of 2019, Chrissy bought her husband Jeremy Chance a wood smoker. This quickly brought her back to her South Texas culinary roots of smoking meats and immediately was bit hard by the BBQ bug along with her husband as they fell in love with BBQ. So they created The Smokin' Texan for homesick Texans everywhere.
We create all of our dry rubs from scratch, right down to grinding our own chilies. by developing all her own dry rubs of freshly ground aromatic spices and chiles creating a different dry rub for each protein. Her signature pork butt and whole hog rub took 2 years to develop and perfect. We believe there is only one way to truly do BBQ low and slow the right way.
Excited to demonstrate her unique smoking skills, on October 29th, 2022, Chrissy competed with several of north Georgia’s top pitmasters and as the only female pitmaster in the Whole Hog Competition at the Denim Fest in Canton, GA. This competition earned “The Smokin’ Texan” first place with an overwhelming amount of the judges’ total vote.
